Daily Echo

Megan did appear in the Daily Echo last Friday - it was a one year post op article.  I am hoping it will be added to the internet so that I can copy the link on to Megan's website.  It was a lovely article saying just how far Megan had come :)

Just added a video of Megan using her gymnastic beam and bench. We were able to purchase this equipment out of Megan's Quest so thank you.

Up date

When Megan went to see Sam at the London Orthotic Clinic (LOC) he was so impressed with Megan particularly as Megan was his first SDR client.  He mentioned Megan's amazing progress to a private physiotherapist based in London and she has asked to see Megan.  We are travelling up to London on 18 November (exactly one year post op) to meet her.  Also Sam mention

Megan's Wellies!!

Have just had a lovely walk.  It was the first time Megan has worn her wellies and walked in loads of muddy puddles.  Before SDR Megan was unable to walk in wellington boots and of course we have had a lovely dry summer but today we walked along a path that was full of muddy puddles and Megan jumped in every single one them and she had great fun - came back

Update

When Megan visited the LOC in London to get her fantastic shoe inserts made up Sam asked if Megan would be interested in meeting a top physiotherapist in London who is keen to meet Megan.  Hopefully we will get to hear soon when this will be.  We are also hoping to return to St Louis in the summer holiday and take Emma and Luke with us as they have missed out quite bit.  Cannot book up a return date yet because it's too soon.  Overall, everything has gone so well with Megan - I'm very happy!! x

Update

Megan is nearly one year post op now.  To say I am pleased with the results is probably a bit of an understatement.  Yesterday Megan's physio came round to see Megan - she hasn't seen her now for well over a month.  I think she was pleasantly surprised when she saw Megan.  We have just purchased a gymnastic beam out of Megan's Quest.  It is taller than her old beams.  Megan has done so much on it and I think her physio was rather impre

Thank you to Dr Park

It's nearly 12 months since Megan had SDR.  To mark this occasion I have decided to ask as many SDR patients as possible to send me photo's of their child and I am going to have a large canvas photo collage of all the children - hopefully it will include all the names plus a special message to Dr Park.  When its finished I will send it to Dr Park so when other families visit they can see all the people that Dr Park has helped.  I'm not sure

Megan's Progress

Megan is continuing to do amazingly well.  Her confidence has grown - more than I could of ever imagined.  She was asked to join a small team at school to write the school newspaper and she is really enjoying it - this time last year she would not have done this.  She also put herself forward to be a bench buddy at school.  This is to look after any children in the playground who look sad or lonely and the bench buddy has to go and help the child.  Again, Megan is doing a great job! She walks to school every day without any problems and now sometimes walks home as well.   Her school work

Megan's Amazing Swimming!

For the past couple of weeks I have been taking Megan swimming as her private swimming lessons have stopped.  Megan can now swim nearly 500 metres on her front which is just incredible.  We only have just over half an hour in the pool and she never wants to get out!
